I loved it. It was a sensuous, emotional and dramatic story.
Not a book I would have chosen myself, but I did enjoy it.
This is the first book I read by this author and was very much worth it giving a chance. I can honestly say that what caught my attention first was the cover and the blurb piqued my interest. I don't get to read a lot of transgender stories and found this one very informative, besides entertaining. The author had me looking thing up about the information she provided about the places and the process for sex affirmation surgery. I loved how both couples were so different and felt like I was on vacation with them (Randy and Jake). My favorite character was most definitely Jake because of his equal opportunity motto. It was refreshing to read this book, which is very different from what I usually read. It was sweet and very touching to see people accepted for who they are.
This iis a very lovely and entertaining story that I had the pleasure to read. To be honest, this is the first transgender romance I have ever read. The author wrote it with a lot of dignity and respect toward the characters of Lalana and Boon-nam. She also wrote the characters of Randy and Jake in a very positive way. Which is important in my point of view. A lot of the time, I come across the "Ladyboys" in the internet as stereotypically negative, but Z. Allora dispels some of this preconceptions. As for the other characters, they mesh really well in the story. Making the story funny, honest, and with personalities. This is a story about love, hope, and taking chances, that can happen to anyone, no matter the genders, which should not be so important. Moreover, the story is very informative, and I did hit the internet a few times to learn more about affirmative surgery. The best part of it is a HEA ending! Those are the best kind for me. If you happen to find this book, please give it a chance, and read it with an open mind. I won't give out any spoilers. Z. Allora is a great writer. She not only entertains with her stories, but also educates.
